Welcome to Target Schools

Target Schools is Oxford University Student Union’s flagship access campaign. Our aim is simple – we want to debunk the myths that many school students have about Oxford. We think the way to do this is for current undergraduates to share their experiences with students from schools with limited history of Oxford applications.

We do this in two parts. The first is our Shadowing Days, where sixth-form students are given the opportunity to shadow a current undergraduate at Oxford University. The second is the Target Schools Roadshow, a series of presentations delivered by students to schools around the country.

Target Schools is unique in being run entirely by Oxford University students. This gives an honest insight into the admissions process, from UCAS to the personal statement to interviews. It’s also a fantastic opportunity to go beyond the prospectus, and learn about student life from the people experiencing it right now.

Undergraduates: Get involved! Signing up to a Shadowing Day  gives you the chance to participate in one of the biggest student-run access schemes in Oxford. If you have any questions or want to sign up to the mailing list, please email us at studentshadowing@ousu.ac.uk or send us a message on Facebook.

Teachers and school students: Please see the relevant FAQ sections for both teachers and school students, to find out more about what we do and how to get involved.

We look forward to seeing you soon!
