Sixth Formers

Shadow an Oxford student

Target Schools runs an annual shadowing scheme for over 200 Year 12 students from the UK.

This is a great way for potential applicants to experience the Oxford teaching style and see what being an Oxford student is really like. The scheme is aimed at 16/17 year olds who are thinking about applying to Oxford. Each sixth-former is matched to an undergraduate studying a subject similar to the one that they are interested in.

They ‘shadow’ that undergraduate from 9am-12pm, accompanying them to lectures, labs and tutorials.

From 12-3:30pm, sixth-formers will attend lunch in an Oxford college, a tour of that college, and a workshop delivered by current undergraduates, offering a unique insight into the application process as well as student life. .

Last year we had an amazing turnout and excellent feedback from those who took part in the scheme. In 2017 we are hoping to build on our success by reaching an even wider range of sixth-formers.
